To provide Howard Sports with a compelling online image, along with powerful content management tools to stay up-to-date and exciting for their enthusiastic athletes and patrons.
Target Audience: Repeat Visitors
The focus of this website became interaction with frequent visitors- the thousands of Mainers who come to the Howard Sports facilities for weekly league sports, casual fun with friends or day-to-day childcare. They have a tremendous relationship with this base, and Howard Sports' staff wanted to harness the web to build momentum and community. Not only did the site need a professional and exciting identity, but it needed to provide the info that would keep people coming back.
Saco Design addressed these needs first by designing a professional, exciting and intuitive interface for visitors to the site. We knew that people would visit HowardSports.com frequently, so we allowed for a certain amount of learning. The goal was to put info at visitors fingertips, giving them access to Howard Sports' breadth of offerings.
Powerful Content Managment
To make this site truly meaningful, Saco Design developed a content management system to put control of the content with the managers at Howard Sports. With a customized back-end and dynamic templates, the Howard Sports staff update news, schedules and standings in-house, keeping a direct link between the courts and the website.
