Speed Makes a Difference

In Early 2010 Google started using  page load speed in its algorithm calculations.  The reasoning behind this is that the faster a page loads the better a user's experience is going to be.  With this in mind you may want to consider whether all the graphics you have on your site are doing anything to help your presence.  Sure a lot of high resolution pictures make your website look better but do they offer any benefit other than that.  Maybe if they do you should consider a Content Delivery Network (CDN) such as the Amazon S3 cloud or Rackspace's Cloud environment.  Consider dropping a bunch of images into a thumbnail gallery and letting the user choose to open the larger versions at their own discretion.

Remember: "Faster sites create happy users.." ~ Google
